I was honest with somebody else about this, so I'm going to make it it's own post. My biggest gripe with Sonic Boom isn't really anything that went on the show. It was the way it was advertised. It was advertised to be way more action-packed than it was. It was the false advertising that really got under my skin. I know a lot of people felt that way about the game. I didn't buy it, and I'm glad I didn't waste my money.  Honestly, Sonic Boom could have lived its life if they had just been honest, and they had done better with the Wii game. Rise of Lyric was meh, but it wasn't totally busted. The Sonic Boom game that was actually functional barely got any advertising. I'm also really disappointed that they wasted a cool character design for Knuckles on this! We'll probably never see that again! 

My retrospective hypercriticisms of Sonic boom condensed This is purely for the show, not for the video games. I tried to fuck with Sonic boom. I watch season 1, I think season 2, and I read the first issue of the comic. I don't have as much access to comics, so I left it at that, but when I realized the show was all going to be fourth wall breaking self-deprecating humor, and it was us older fans that were the butt of the jokes, I dropped out. It was a sitcom/ actcom geared towards people 8 to 15, but the fourth wall breaking humor that they leaned on for the show was geared towards older fans. I'm just now finding out they did a full recast on Sonic the Hedgehog again. Kurt Thornton is no longer Shadow and Roger Craig Smith is no longer Sonic. I had some very strong opinions more about Kurt Thornton and I'm kind of glad they did a recast. I'm more disappointed that they recasted for people who sound similar instead of just shaking the whole thing up. If you're gonna recast the voice actors why not just go ahead and change the voices to make them sound different and distinguish them from the previous actors? The only one that I could actually tell had been recast was Doctor Eggman because he only sounds slightly different at first, but then he sounded more like his previous voice actor. I also have very strong opinions about how they unceremoniously change voice actors with Sonic the hedgehog. Unceremoniously changing an entire cast is pretty rare throughout the entire industry, but very common when it comes to Sonic the hedgehog. I don't think it's ri

Remember at the end of Shadow the hedgehog where he threw the picture of him and Maria into the screen and decided to let go of the past and move on with his life? You know how the fandom won't let him do that!? Even Kirk Thornton hangs on to it when it comes to Q&A stuff because he knows that's what the fans want. Kirk Thornton wasn't there to feel the characters development and everything that went on with Shadow to understand why it's important for him to move on. I don't know how or why, but they made #SonicBoom a situational comedy aimed at children. Children don't really go through situations that make their lives entertaining, so they really sat back and relied on Fourth Wall breaking to be relatable. Played really hard into the will they won't they between Sonic and Amy when we already know they won't. Hardly, had Shadow in there, but he shouldn't have been there, at all. It would have been best to leave Shadow out of it. With that, Sonic Boom broke all the rules that had been established throughout various parts of the Sonic Universe and up until then remained consistent.  If you're asking what could possibly can be consistent throughout the Sonic Multiverse, I have very simple answers to that question.
