I don't know how or why, but they made #SonicBoom a situational comedy aimed at children. Children don't really go through situations that make their lives entertaining, so they really sat back and relied on Fourth Wall breaking to be relatable. Played really hard into the will they won't they between Sonic and Amy when we already know they won't. Hardly, had Shadow in there, but he shouldn't have been there, at all. It would have been best to leave Shadow out of it. With that, Sonic Boom broke all the rules that had been established throughout various parts of the Sonic Universe and up until then remained consistent.
If you're asking what could possibly can be consistent throughout the Sonic Multiverse, I have very simple answers to that question. Sonic is blue. Sonic goes fast. Sonic is always ready for action! Sonic Boom Sonic was pretty lazy, didn't even seem to like being a hero most of the time. The blue was questionable, and rarely did he go fast. He didn't even go fast in the game. Maybe he went fast in the rise of lyric game, but not in the main one they were pushing. He was not BLUE BLURRING it. He was not the hype. He was not the energy. The Sonic fandom is not a monolith and I can see how some fans enjoy them more down to earth take. But there are also fans who keep defending Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, so take it with a grain of salt!
#Sega has a lot of trust rebuilding to do. It's not just with the games. It's with every other part of the franchise, as well. #sonicthehedgehog #sonicteam
